3 Reasons Why You Should Build Your Website with WordPress

Edited September 2023.

Everyone with a website, or even anyone who uses the internet, has heard of WordPress – and with good reason. What started in 2003 as a fairly slack, open source content management system (CMS) has become an industry leader in both web build and design. As we’ve been using WordPress for 20 years we thought it would be a good time to review why we love it so much.

1. WordPress is the biggest CMS in the world

It’s got a 63% market share, is the fastest growing CMS platform in the world, and over 43% of websites are built using it.

Those are great stats, and from a business perspective that should be reason enough to build your website in WordPress. But what this means in practical terms is that it is a platform that has the largest troubleshooting network, it is constantly being updated with the latest widgets and plugins, and it is secure – a company that serves so many needs to offer its clients complete peace of mind, and WordPress delivers.

2. WordPress is easy to use

Partly because of its popularity, but also because of its open source nature and intuitive user interface, WordPress is very easy to use. It’s designed with not just developers in mind, but users too. Anyone with a passing familiarity with the internet can work out how to at least add content – and we can always help you to work out how.

This also means that if you’re working with a company, or have hired someone, who has experience with WordPress, their skill base is completely transferable. No need to learn some esoteric alternative CMS – or even train them – if they know how to use it, they’re ready to go. This in turn means it’s easier to train users and employees – in fact, as standard, when we build a WordPress website for a client, we train them so they have complete control over their content and can understand better the work that we do.

3. WordPress is better for SEO

This might seem a little selfish, but from a search engine optimisation perspective, it makes our life a lot easier. And practically, for you, this means that more people are likely to find your site online. Not only will you have a mobile optimised site that looks great and functions super smoothly, but we’ll be able to make sure that your content and meta data are working as hard for you as possible with a site that, according to Google, is 99% SEO friendly.

If these aren’t reason enough to build your website with WordPress, then why not contact us to see how else it can benefit you, and how it’s surprisingly affordable to convert from an old CMS to WordPress. Also, we can train your staff to use WordPress, and even offer frank advice about what would work best for you.
