Despite the brand’s physical craftsmanship being top-tier, Simon’s digital “showroom” was holding him back. His previous website was built on Webflow, which presented several critical hurdles:

  • Lack of Control: The rigid structure meant Simon couldn’t easily update content, change images, or add new portfolio pieces without technical assistance.
  • Content Bottlenecks: Important sections of the site were effectively “locked,” making it difficult to keep the service offerings and regional landing pages current.
  • Scalability: As an award-winning business, the brand needed a site that could evolve as quickly as their service list.

We transitioned Grimley Flooring to a bespoke WordPress environment designed for speed, SEO, and – most importantly – user empowerment.

We moved away from the restrictive “no-touch” zones of the old site. By leveraging the flexibility of WordPress we built a modular system where Simon can now:

  • Update Every Page: Every text block, image, and call-to-action is editable from a content and styling perspective.
  • Manage the Portfolio: A custom “Our Work” section allows Simon to upload new case studies (like the recent “Manhole Cover” or “Christmas Makeover” projects) to showcase his team’s skills.
  • Dynamic Learning Centre: A new resources area where Simon can add guides on carpet fibres, underlays, and subfloor prep to educate his customers.

The new design prioritises the customer journey, reflecting Simon’s “honest advice, no jargon” approach:

  • Instant Pricing & Booking: Integrated clear “Book Appointment” and “Get an Instant Price” triggers across the site to drive lead generation.
  • Trust Signals: Strategic placement of his 3-year warranties, NICF accreditations, Trustmark, and “Buy With Confidence” badges.
  • Service-Specific Landing Pages: Dedicated, easy-to-edit sections for Carpets, LVT, and Vinyl to improve local SEO rankings in Eastbourne and the surrounding Sussex area.

Since flooring is a visual industry, we focused on high-quality imagery and a clean, professional aesthetic. The site now effectively communicates the “Wow factor” Simon promises his clients, showcasing everything from luxury wool carpets to intricate LVT designs.

The result is a professional, high-converting digital platform that matches the quality of Grimley Flooring’s physical installations.

  • Future-Proofed: With WordPress, the site can easily integrate new features, such as e-commerce for accessories or advanced booking systems, as the business continues to grow.
  • Autonomy: Simon is no longer reliant on a developer for minor changes. He has full ownership of his digital asset.
  • Modernised UX: A faster, mobile-responsive experience that makes it easy for clients to browse samples and book consultations from any device.

Our old site simply wasn’t converting; the new one finally reflects the quality of our business. We have already seen an increase in traffic and conversions, and the feedback has been amazing.

Communication was clear, proactive, and refreshingly jargon-free throughout. James Golding in particular has the great skill of making you feel like you are their only client – nothing ever felt rushed or templated.
